How Treatment Works
Treatment for each client is individualized based on clinical needs, referral requirements, treatment history, risk factors, strengths, and treatment goals. H&H helps individuals address harmful behavior, increase accountability, build valuable life skills, and reduce future risk.
H&H works closely with probation and parole, when applicable, to assist clients in meeting treatment expectations and requirements of community supervision. Healthy family members and support systems may also be included in treatment when clinically appropriate.
Treatment length varies based on the type and severity of presenting concerns, prior treatment, treatment engagement, risk level, family and support involvement, supervision requirements, and demonstrated progress. Some programs may include a maintenance phase following primary treatment.
Clients often progress more effectively when individual, group, and family/support-system interventions are consistently integrated. H&H strives to provide individualized attention in a structured and supportive environment while helping clients develop prosocial relationships, healthier coping skills, improved decision-making, and a safer lifestyle.
Treatment is designed to help clients build and apply the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent future sexual, violent, criminal, compulsive, or otherwise harmful behavior.
Typical Sex Offender Treatment Structure
A typical client may participate in a weekly 90-minute group and one 50-minute individual session per month. Family or marital therapy may be included as needed, and chaperone training is available for those who qualify. Frequency and intensity may be adjusted according to clinical needs and treatment recommendations.
